Mercury Tee – Part of our Planetary Series

This tee pays homage to Mercury, the swiftest and innermost planet of our solar system. Despite its close proximity to the Sun, Mercury remained one of the most mysterious planets for decades.

The design honors the pioneers of Mercury exploration—from NASA’s Mariner 10 in the 1970s to the MESSENGER mission launched in 2004. It also reflects deep respect for the ongoing BepiColombo mission, a collaboration between JAXA and ESA.

One of the spacecraft in this mission, “Mio”, was developed by JAXA. Named after a poetic Japanese word meaning “waterway,” Mio symbolizes a calm path flowing through space. While it studies Mercury’s magnetic field and plasma environment, it also represents the gentle current of scientific curiosity.

The Mercury Tee is more than a design—it's a quiet tribute to space exploration and the unseen stories traveling beyond our world.

シリーズの天体Tee「マーキュリー」。太陽系で最も内側を高速で周回する惑星「水星」に敬意を表しています。太陽に最も近いにもかかわらず、水星は長い間、最も謎に包まれた惑星の一つ。 1970年代のNASA「マリナー10」や2004年の「メッセンジャー」など、水星探査のパイオニアたち。そして現在も進行中の、JAXAとESAによる共同ミッション「ベピコロンボ」へのリスペクトを込めています。 このミッションの一部であるJAXA開発の探査機「みお」は、日本語で“水路”を意味する詩的な名前に由来し、宇宙空間を流れる静かな道を象徴しています。磁場やプラズマの観測を行いながらも、科学的好奇心という穏やかな流れを体現している。 Mercury Teeは、宇宙探査の静かな敬意と、宇宙を旅する小さな物語への賛辞が込められたデザインです。
